Reinvention is what happens naturally.

Reinvention does happen naturally, but that doesn’t mean a good old fashioned rock album (hello Green Day and “American Idiot”) is worthless.
This also applies to video games. Innovation is great, but knocking a game because “it’s more of the same” when that same stuff is still great is just stupid.
Just look at New Super Mario Bros. It uses the same standard side-scrolling platformer patterns the original Super Mario Bros. used, but it’s still an incredible game.
