I’ve heard IMDB and Metacritic are pretty popular. I always turn to Rotten Tomatoes, though. ---

The trick is to find a reviewer that consistently shares your own taste in movies. Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic and others that aggregate reviews don’t really do it for me. ---

I like Pajiba. The reviews are long, and sometimes spoilery (it warns before BIG ones, plus you can just read the first paragraph before it goes into the plot). The reviews tend to be more --negative and nit-picky than I am, but the critiques tend to be insightful. ---

I find [Reel Views](http://www.reelviews.net) the most reliable single critic. But generally I use [Metacritic](http://www.metacritic.com); anything scoring over 65 or so is probably worth watching. ---

I use the Yahoo Movies, Critic and User aggregate ratings. Then you look at what sort of movie it is and decide which you’d probably be more like, an average American or a critic as regards that movie. ---

Rotten Tomatoes is pretty good if you judge the reviews individually, but even to me (a guy) the site seems very oriented toward what men (and more specifically young men) would like vs other sensibilities.
