My family has bought a fair amount of rural parcels. From what I can tell:
-You learn a lot by taking Sunday drives out in the country, looking for places for sale and calling up the brokers.
-You can also stop in the local stores on the drive to pick up the real estate flyers and magazines that don’t always make it online.
-Also, if there’s an area you like, you should find a local real estate agent and just tell them what you’re looking for. They’ll file your info away and if something comes up, they’ll give you a call.
Now that I’m old enough, I’ve started looking for parcels, and agree with the OP that there is not as much data online.
