I don’t know for sure, but I think those experts were interested in selling mortgages.
Buried in the yada, yada, yada - it appears that they have not changed their tunes. A mortgage guy and new owners say that housing will continue to outpace inflation.
It is the economists who say that the real estate boom that started around 1980 was an historical aberration and that housing will only match inflation, with no real return.
I was really surprised to find out Una is so attached to Kansas City. If I lived there I would want to get out whether it was because of a house that was too big, too small, no house; apartments, girlfriends, no girlfriends, too much money, not enough money… basically no matter what. But I am nuts about the mountains, so there you go. She makes the place and her plan sound good though.
I like where I am. I can see the obviousness of just staying here. Getting to a different place for me was a project for my early life. This seems like a slightly different circumstance than most others in this thread. For me, the considerations of jobs or kids or retirement or what have you aren’t very important. I’ll move if I want, or not, regardless.
