# Is search broken again?

When trying to search, either from the drop down box or adavanced search I get this error
**Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2097152 bytes) in /home/straightdope/boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/search.php on line 1008**
Trying again, it forces me to wait 300 seconds.
Is it broken, or just me?

Maybe it’s just giving me that error when there’s no results.
Try searching “black gunk water” without quotes.

It’s not been working properly since the new server was installed. It will work with some words, but will not work with other words.

I got the same error message for black gunk water.
It still works for other words, though.

I also get an error using these terms.
For what it is worth, ‘black gunk’ and ‘gunk water’ both give normal results. ‘Black water’ generates an error, as does ‘white water’, which I tested in the interests of racial equality.
Pick the bones out of that, if you can.
