We should also consider Superman’s position on gun control. After all, he did confiscate the entire world’s nuclear arsenal in _Superman IV: The Quest for Peace_. If that doesn’t put him in the liberal camp, I don’t know what would. ---

When he did it more recently in the comics, he was being manipulated by an extra-dimensional being and wasn’t thinking clearly. When he came to his senses he realized he was wrong and that wasn’t the way to encourage peace. I still say moderate liberal. Tolerant and compassionate, but not extreme. ---
