There are guys in Taiwan who drive these sound trucks advertising restaurants, salons, etc. They drive down these already incredibly crowded streets at ~5 mph playing recorded touts for these businesses at full volume while playing hob with the traffic. Sometimes there is a row of them with their tapes out of synch, resulting in an ear-splitting cacophony. How’s that? ---

Good ones **KKBattousai** and **dietrologia**. I suppose RIAA members can be seen as protecting the copyrights of artists, maybe. I think the Vegas guys and the flyer people are as bad as telemarketers, but at least the damage they cause is less wide spread. But I must agree that media “pundits” (thinking the late Robert Maxwell) and political “spin doctors” are indeed worse than telemarketers. ---

**irae** mmmmm, but is it actually legal for them to hold up traffic like that, or do the Police simply turn a blind eye (and maybe an open palm) to them? ---

What, all these posts and nobody’s said “moderator”? 😉 From my own experience, realtors. It says something that the blantantly racist assholes who came right out and said “we don’t want foreigners moving into our neighborhood” were some of the least annoying. ---

I consider telemarketers to be the same as used car salesmen, except they come to _your_ house, rather than waiting for you to come to them. And that just makes the profession ten times more annoying than the worst of lying, scamming used car salesmen.\* So yes, IMO, it is the worst profession. I respect the profession of prostitution more, to be honest. - I realise that honest, decent used car salesmen do exist. I also realise that honest, nice telemarketers probably exist. I’m talking about the profession, not every single person in it. ---

My sister felt pretty unappreciated when she did repo work. The owners hated her for driving away in their cars and the new owners hated her for how much she charged and for whenever there was a hitch. I’m just glad her current profession doesn’t require her to drive around with a shotgun, wearing a bullet proof vest, phew! ---

How about television network executives? You know, the zoot-suits who **approved** all these “reality” shows. It’s their usual style: Someone takes a rare risk, one show in several years becomes a smash hit, and then we get five years of cheap clones of that hit. They’re doing it to “Survivor,” which has cross-bred with the clones of “WWTBA Millionaire.” They did it to “Friends.” And I’m sure they’ve done it several times before.
