Because you reversed it by replacing the dead part.
Assuming the witch is using literal magic? Sure, it’s quite possible. But that’s because it works by magic. We’re not talking about what happens when a level 7 Wizard casts Dimension Door, we’re talking about a technological device that works by causing fatal damage to your body and then reconstructing it elsewhere.
We do? I thought we start talking about people in the past tense when they’ve been killed?
I never said you did. I did not falsely attribute this claim to you, I was quoting Generic UserID.
Not may people think you’d see both A and B at the same time - to do so would necessitate souls, and those souls would have to have an extremely adaptable connection to their body/bodies at that. The argument is basically that the copy is a completely new separate entity…and also ‘you’ - or close enough for government work anyway. So you walk into the room, seeing A, and then it suddenly switches to B, and you know that you’ve arrived at your destination.
To bring this back to the OP, your body does this itself constantly.
I’m not talking about moving goalposts here - I’m saying, what if the level 7 Wizard cast a level 7 Turn you into atomic slurry, poured you into a barrel, carried you to your destination, and then cast a level 17 Extra Extra Healing on you to return you to your original state.
Or you could be a toaster oven or a newt in the middle - it’s the same deal from a “severe alterations to your physical form” standpoint. Either way that slurry, newt, or toaster oven is still you - or “what’s left of you”, at the very least.
I suspect that when you go to a funeral, you don’t hear people saying, “This corpse that used to be grandma but isn’t her anymore looks so peaceful, doesn’t it?”
:smack::smack::smack::smack: My bad - my brain shut down or something. sorry.
