Yeah, that’s great FOR YOU. Blow jobs aren’t too much fun for us girls, sorry to say (not all of us, I know, I know). And yeah. Telling people to abstain from intercourse until they’re ready to have children. That’ll fly. Especially for those who never want children. They’re NEVER supposed to have intercourse? And 99.99% effective means there’s still a chance, however slim. That’s my point. Not to mention the fact that condoms break. Pills can become less effective with certain medications (which can be easy to forget), ect. ---

You know, there’s also a great thing called the morning after pill (and it’s _not_ an abortion pill. It prevents the pregnancy from occuring). Failing that there is good old abortion (which I _highly_ recommend and encourage) and there is also adoption. There is no need to become a parent just because you get pregnant. ---

I think it’s essential that all oral sex be reciprocated, of course…and there is always the option of mutual masturbation. But really, that’s only for those who are truly paranoid about pregnancy. The pill or a condom is really just fine. Just keep some emergency contraception around as well…and the number of the local abortion clinic for that one in a million chance. ---

_sigh_ not everyone believes in abortion. And not everyone can part with a child they carried for 9 months. Why is it so freakin’ hard for you to admit that sometimes life throws things at you that you may not be ready for? Unless you’re perfect of course, which you seem to think you are. Not everything is as simple as you’re making it. And **blalron** , cunnilingus isn’t always enjoyable for everyone either. Personally, I don’t like it. So should I just never have sex until I’m ready for a kid however many years from now? I don’t _think_ so. ---

I would have to agree with **Dio** (no slant on the OP though…who I wish all the best ). I have been a parent for 11 years, 10 of those as a solo parent (I’m a widow) there is NO guarantee that any relationship is going to last but even less evidence that a teemage one will. Raising a child alone is not fun, not easy and nor something I would do again. If birth control fails there is abortion, not a popular decision ever, but sometimes it makes the most sense in a lot of cases. OK I was just going to push “submit” . I realise abortion doesn’t gel with everyones beliefs and there are many sucessful single parent families (my own included I think!) but it is not a desirable or enviable way of life. I would strongly try to convince any teen that becoming a mum was not a good thing. (I was 24 and married btw) ---

The vast majority of teenage preganacies are not because of failed protection but because of _no_ protection or misuse of protection. What are the chances of getting pregnant when the two parties properly and consistantly use birth control? I know people are going to chime in with personal examples of birth control failing, but what I want to know, what percentage of teenage pregnancies are the results of contraception failing, and what percentage is caused by unprotected sex? ---

**Diognes** , I’m not grasping at straws, I’m trying to show you that it’s not a black and white thing. You’re the one who won’t admit that even the teensiest percentage of teenage pregnancy’s could not be the direct fault of the teenagers (assuming they’re allowed to have sex in your perfect world). I’m in no way saying the majority of teenage pregnancies are the result of failed birth control and that because a teenager gets pregnant, they’re automatically irresponsible and stupid. You’re the one who won’t be freakin’ reasonable here, not me.
