Barbecue, when correctly prepared (not to mention spelled) gives off a pleasantly sweet and smoky aroma. The smell here in the Pit can be a bit stronger and is not always, shall we say, as appetizing. How about the “Call to the Car-Pit” instead. I have five pets and think the smell of skewered individuals is more similar to the odor of their rug residue than juicy picnic ribs. ---

While the Pit has the occasional valid use, its much more frequent application is to browbeat some poor schmuck who dares to think differently than the rest of the Dope back into line. [This](http://datawerks.net/winternet.jpg) says it almost perfectly. ---
