Whatever you guys say. We each decide for ourselves. Have a great day.
His4ever, do you know the difference between the truth and an opinion?
I do, I do!
Everything I say is the truth, everything you say that is in disagreement with what I say is opinion…
It’s just a joke…

I know it’s just a joke…
Don’t worry His - to paraphrase your holy book, “the Word Of Reason will not return void” - if you keep exposing your brain to reason, it just may get through some day. Who knows, you may even ask Lynn to change your screen name to Thought4Ever!
Very funny, lol. Who knows, it could work in the reverse. If your brain keeps getting exposed to truth, it might eventually get through some day, only God knows. After all, the Book does say somwhere, “my word shall not return to me void.” (without bearing fruit). But some falls on stony ground, some falls on ground with thorns and thistles, etc. etc. Nothing wrong with the word, it’s the ground it falls on.
Yet, when someone points out the truth about Jack Chick and the truth about Catholicism, you close yourself off to it.
I think “closed” is the operative word regarding most of His4Ever’s psyche, Guinastasia.
Bullfighter writes:
The Bible not only contains contradictions (Genesis 1 contradicts Genesis 2 about whether man or animals were made first), but it is poorly written, poorly edited, contains much pointless trivia (try reading Numbers) and, together with some decent moral sentiments, lots of horrible moral examples. If there is a God, it is an insult to him/her to say he/she wrote it or even inspired it.
Give a little thought to the Ten Commandments. Supposedly these are so central to law and morality that God had them engraved on sacred tablets. This should be the Big Ten of rules. Is child abuse forbidden? No. How about arson, vandalism, torture, slavery, or substance abuse? None of those. But there is elaboration on forbidding “coveting” and honoring the sabbath. I don’t think a perfect God wrote these. I think they were written by a human, and one that was not too bright at that. The average high school kid could do a better job.
Then there’s Psalms 137:9 “Happy shall he be who takes your little ones and dashes them against the rock!” I don’t think God inspired this. Or in Numbers 15:22-36 where God orders a man stoned to death for gathering sticks on the sabbath. I don’t buy it.
There’s lots more. I don’t think any intelligent person reading this book would believe it was the Word of God unless they were first indoctrinated into that idea, which, unfortunately, most of us are. I think it’s good if people read the Bible, but they should read it to figure out what is really going on, not from a perspective of blind acceptance.
Actually, the contradictions and flaws in the Bible are numerous. Here are a few examples:
Conserning the death of Jesus and what he said before he died:
Matthew 27:46 "About three o’clock Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”
Luke 23:46 “Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I entrust my spirit.” After he said this, he died.”
John 19:13 “After Jesus had taken the vinegar, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and died.”
So, obviously, three totally different versions.
Conserning Christ´s ancestors:
Matthew, chapter 1 and Luke, chapter 3, contradict eachother totally.
This is the order in which Christ´s ancenstors are mentioned, in Matthew and Luke, respectively. (The names are in Swedish, I didn´t have the time to translate. Sorry).

Was it God or Satan who commanded David to count the Israelis?:
2 Samuel 24:1 "The LORD became angry with Israel again, so he provoked David to turn against Israel. He said, “Go, count Israel and Judah.” "
1 Chronicles 21:1 “And Satan rose up against Israel: and moved David to number Israel.”
Biblical mathematics:
Joshua 15:21-32 mentions “the cities from the uttermost parts of the children of Juda”, which, it is said in Joshua 15:32, is supposed to be 29… Count for yourselves, and you will see it is 32 cities, not 29
15:21
“And the cities from the uttermost parts of the children of Juda by the borders of Edom to the south, were Cabseel and Eder and Jagur,
15:22
And Cina and Dimona and Adada,
15:23
And Cades and Asor and Jethnam,
15:24
Ziph and Telem and Baloth,
15:25
New Asor and Carioth, Hesron, which is Asor.
15:26
Amam, Sama and Molada,
15:27
And Asergadda and Hassemon and Bethphelet,
15:28
And Hasersual and Bersabee and Baziothia,
15:29
And Baala and Jim and Esem,
15:30
And Eltholad and Cesil and Harma,
15:31
And Siceleg and Medemena and Sensenna,
15:32
Lebaoth and Selim and Aen and Remmon: all the cities twenty-nine, and their villages.”
How many horsemen did David take?
2 Samuel 8:4
“And David took from him a thousand and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen, and houghed all the chariot horses: and only reserved of them for one hundred chariots.”
1 Chronicles 18:4
"And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen, and he houghed all the chariot horses, only a hundred chariots, which he reserved for himself.
Bible says insects have for legs:
Leviticus 11:21-23
“But whatsoever walketh upon four feet, but hath the legs behind longer, wherewith it hoppeth upon the earth,
That you shall eat: as the bruchus in its kind, the attacus, and ophimachus, and the locust, every, one according to their kind.
But of flying things whatsoever hath four feet only, shall be an abomination to you.”
Well, locusts, like other insects, do not have four legs. There´s no such thing as four-legged insects…
Bible says hares chew the cud like cows:
Leviticus 11:6
“The hare also: for that too cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof.”
Well, they don´t
Was Zackarias son of Bacharias or Joaida?
2 Chronicles 24:20
“The spirit of God then came upon Zacharias the son of Joiada the priest, and he stood in the sight of the people, and said to them: Thus saith the Lord God: Why transgress you the commandment of the Lord which will not be for your good, and have forsaken the Lord, to make him forsake you?”
Matthew 23:35
“That upon you may come all the just blood that hath been shed upon the earth, from the blood of Abel the just, even unto the blood of Zacharias the son of Barachias, whom you killed between the temple and the altar.”
Who was the prophet Elias?:
Christians claim that the prophet Elias would come before the Christ, and that he was in fact John the Baptist.
Matthew 17:10-13
“And his disciples asked him, saying: Why then do the scribes say that Elias must come first?
But he answering, said to them: Elias indeed shall come, and restore all things.
But I say to you, that Elias is already come, and they knew him not, But have done unto him whatsoever they had a mind. So also the Son of man shall suffer from them.
Then the disciples understood, that he had spoken to them of John the Baptist.”
Matthew 11:13-14
"For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John:
And if you will receive it, he is Elias that is to come.
Problem is that John the Baptist made it explicitly clear that he was not, in fact, Elias:
John 1:19-21
“And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent from Jerusalem priests and Levites to him, to ask him: Who art thou?
And he confessed and did not deny: and he confessed: I am not the Christ.
And they asked him: What then? Art thou Elias? And he said: I am not. Art thou the prophet? And he answered: No.”
Well, this is just a tiny fraction of all the inconsistencies, flaws, and contradicitions of the Bible. So, how can anyone claim that the Bible is “the Word of God” in the fundementalist sense?
I’ve find it intriguing that the name of God is an alteration of the word that best describes the main focus of two of the major religions.
In a very broad sense, the people that use the word God tend to focus on goodness: what God has done for us, what we do to others, etc.
In a similar very broad sense, the people that use the word Allah tend to focus on doing the will of God of at all of the time.
I am sure that there is a lot of coincidence here.
Other religions also define God as All (as in: the whole universe). He is: All caring, all powerfull, all knowing, etc. etc.
His4: I know that God is more than Love. If you were to chose one word that best decribes your interpretation of God, which would it be?
I would suggest that Love best describes the God of Jesus.
It is important to know the difference the difference between what a person thinks (believes) and what a person knows. Between Facts and Beliefs. That is why the rest of only tolerate a “watered down” version of Christianity.
The reactionary version of Christianity does not understand the difference between belief and fact. The “non-watered down” writers tend to be arrogant: they know the truth and we don’t. They are going to Heaven, we are going to Hell! (by definition, you cannot believe that last sentence without being arrogant. Pride goeth before a fall.)
“Non- watered down” believers want to force their beliefs on us. They want to force their morals on us. They have succeeded in forcing their morals on society. This fact tends to make society less tolerant of like minded tyrants.
These are the facts:
By definition:
God: 1) The Force behind the existance of the Universe.
2) The Force that controls the Universe now.
All definitions of God that go beyond this are beliefs and Religion.
