Is "The Bonfire of the Vanities" the most miscast movie ever?

Fun fact: she also voiced the singing cartoon geese during the chalk drawing segment of Mary Poppins.

And he’s in high school and throws a party at his house while his parents are away. Maybe with a hooker. And a killer pimp named Guido. Throw in some theft and driving Jack Reacher Sr.'s Porsche into a river. I think that could be a hit.

Oh! She was the lady from Boomerang! I watched that as a kid.

Not worst miscast, but Out To Sea (1997) with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon. The script was obviously written for an older person who is teaching a younger person the ropes. Instead we got one of the greatest comedy teams working against the script.

I grew up in the northwest; I was aware of Boomerang but don’t know if I ever watched a full episode. And at some point as an adult I heard of Marni Nixon as the singer behind some classic movie musicals. It was only about ten years ago I found out they were one and the same.

I wonder if there’s a story in how she went from backing Audrey Hepburn to local kids’ TV.

If you haven’t checked out the Amazon Prime series Reacher do so. They got the casting exactly right.

I know-I love it.
