In a surprising development, residents of the other 49 states asked if they, too, could nominate deceased people to run against their states’ Congressional incumbents. “Why didn’t we think of this sooner?”, said an exhausted New Jersey voter, still dazed by the NJ media ad blitz. Frustrated Lazio supporters in New York readily agreed that Missouri has a better deal than the OP seems to think they do. “Trust me”, groaned one man, still holding his Hillary caricature sign, “you could do worse”. However, a contingent of South Carolina residents stated that as a solution it is overrated. “Been doin’ that for years now. Don’t help, really. Dead or alive, they still want your damn vote.” ---

That’s one of the funniest fucking comments I’ve ever read. Kudos 2 U. This thread, upon review, is amazing in light of the Florida debacle. Montfort (et al) has to eat shit, he talks ‘Rule of Law’, but I bet he’s not happy that ‘Dubya’ is taking over. There are many more examples, get a laugh and read them… ---

And, I’m not happy that Dubya is the next president. I have serious questions pertaining to the “rule of law” in the state of Florida, as interpreted by the local, state, and US Supreme Courts. But, that’s neither here nor there. I’m sure Sen. J. Carnahan will be a great Senator. I’m not so sure about Ashcroft being the Attorney General, though. ---

What did Ashcroft in was that he had to run on his record. It was ill-advised to keep throwing mud at a dead cantidate, and attacking his widow was out-of-the question. Since there was no negative campaign to wage, and his record wasn’t anything to shout about, Ashcroft lost. That, and being just slightly to the right of Moses.
