This reminds me of something rather off-topic. But what the hell, I’ll tell it anyway - completely contrary to my normal posting style, which is ALWAYS on topic. When the Star Trek: TNG episode “Best of Both Worlds” was filmed, the following occurred. Jean-Luc Picard walked out onto the set from his dressing room. For the first time, he was dressed and made up as Locutus of Borg and he looked VERY impressive. He walks to his spot for the next shot and is asked to do a sound check. With the entire crew still staring in awe at the amazing outfit, he loudly says: “I am Locutus of Borg. Where’d that dupe post come from? ohwell… Bed Boy, of the Legion of Substitute Heroes: Able to lure any of several different sentient species into lying on him to fall asleep; admittedly a problematic power, as he has only so much room on his body–one Dominator would cover him up! So, he can capture one bad guy, but is tied up with that one for the duration of the skirmish. (Yep, I’ve read WAY too many comic books.) ---

OK, OK, I think someone needs to reassure the boy. Seriously, now. A cult? No, of course not. We’re not a cult. Cecil occasionally claims near-divine intelligence, but that’s meant as a joke. Anyway, Cecil isn’t even a real person (as far as I can tell), so there’s not much chance of cultically devoted SDMB’er’s, oh, bearing his children out of misguided adoration, say. It’s a joke, and anyone can get in on it, and there’s not really even a religious dimension to it. Unfortunately, the typical SDMB addict has a weird and irreverent sense of humor, which you have excited. For an example, after having just said all of the above, I think, “Wait–or am I describing Discordianism there?” Oh, and sorry about mocking your name.
