# Is the thread archive or search still lost/not working?

When the interface of the board changed, there was some trouble with searching for some old posts. I’m finding that searches for a lot of old posts are still coming up fruitless. Are some posts permanently gone? Thanks.

I would imagine it’s a server issue; pulling up old posts may be such a drain on the server (on top of everything else) that the requested action is timing out.

We’re still running at capacity and beyond that damn near all the time and service is degraded accordingly.

I do not know what to tell you.

You still can’t search for posts from August 2003 to mid-January 2004. Those posts weren’t deleted, you can still read them if you find them another way. They just weren’t re-indexed properly in the big re-indexing earlier this year.
