It’ll be nice to go back to normal, but having to go back to work in person will suck hard. I save about 2 hours a day by working from home (plus I can use my lunch hour sleeping in my own bed). Lots of people are going to have trouble adjusting to going back to work in person, especially considering that a lot of jobs can be done fine at home. But on another topic, there are 8 billion people on earth, so we need 16 billion of these vaccines. Any idea how long it’ll take the rest of the world to get the vaccine? I know AstraZeneca has a single dose vaccine coming out. I’m sure there are other vaccine candidates coming out too, which is good. But enough to vaccinate 8 billion people, I’ve heard some reports it may not be until 2024 that the entire world is vaccinated. Any idea if thats true? I mean I would assume a lot of factories on earth have the capacity to make vaccines located all over the west, Japan, China, India, etc. all of whom have advanced manufacturing and biotechnology infrastructure. But shipping and storing vaccines at -70 isn’t easy. ---

Only one vaccine requires a -70°f temp. More vaccines should be coming online shortly. I’m hoping the J&J is close and very effective as it is a one shot vaccine and they have vast capacity for production. Meanwhile vaccines are being developed all over the world. Finally we don’t need to vaccinate 100% of humanity to stop COVID-19. ---

200 million doses covers about a third of the population if two doses are required. So no. Maybe by fall or early winter… ---

This is 200 million _more_ doses. For a total of 600 million. Which is enough to give the vast majority of Americans 2 doses. It’s probably enough doses for more Americans than will be willing to take it. ---

I don’t think kids can get the vaccine (I’m not sure), but theres about ~70 million people under age 18 in the US. Plus I’d wager about 1/4 or so of adults will refuse to get it. So in theory at max we’d need about 400 million doses total for 200 million people. ---
