Is there a good, inexpensive word processor for the PC?

In case you’d like to stick with Office, you can get Office 2007 Home and Student for $90 at newegg. It comes with Word, Excel and Power Point.

Though office 2007 blows, I will drag my heals for a long time before upgrading at home.

umm… hate to have to ask this, but did you try WordPad?

I use office 2007 at work, mostly excel, but word as well. The new design does require some getting used to, but once I did, I did not find it an impediment to my work, in fact, it streamlined some of my tasks. I don’t know if it’s a quirk of my particular type of work with Excel and word, but I found my experience drastically different than most of the people denouncing office 2007 as the Antichrist. Same goes for vista.

It isn’t as full-featured as openoffice, but I recommend RoughDraft - Untitled Document

The OP lives in Canada, and NewEgg does not deliver outside the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

Amazon also has it for the same price. I’m not sure if they deliver to Canada either though.

You can get offline access to google docs with google gears. I just installed it tho and can’t really say how well it works.
