Is there a market for Apple II manuals?

I have an old Apple II Pascal programming book. I know some people collect old computer stuff, would they be interested? I am not looking to make loads of cash but it would be a shame to throw it out if there are people who would appreciate it.

FWIW I put “Apple II Pascal” into Ebay and got a few hits. I imagine deeper and more creative searching will get you a better idea. Good luck!

Post the ISBN and I’ll give it a proper valuation including comp sale prices.

There is definitely a market for such things —or at the very least, people willing to take it off your hands. Try asking Syndicomm if they’d be interested in having it. Also try posting to the newsgroup comp.sys.apple2.marketplace.

Jeez, I had a set 25 years ago.

I just pulled it off the shelf for the first time in many years. Turns out it is not an Apple publication but a McGraw Hill tutorial book - Apple Pascal a hands-on approach. Checked on Amazon Marketplace - seems it is worth next to nothing. May try that newsgroup if someone wants it for the cost of shipping which would probably restrict it to UK only.

Do you have charity thrift stores in the UK?
I’d just donate it to one of those. Sooner or later an interested hobbyist will come across it.

Yes, it was a very common book I’m afraid. Not exactly the Gutenburg Bible.

(Well, not yet anyway. Give it five centuries.)

I’m thinking this book could wait a long time in a thrift store before an enthusiast of old computers wandered by, even in a place like London. I’d worry that the staff would just throw it away after a time — perhaps immediately after you’ve walked out. It’s not like it’s a Harry Potter novel.
