For example, i’ve noticed that since i started doing things like meditating or practicing self hypnosis and self suggestion my pain threshold has gone up. i’d _like_ to think this is because i’ve managed to seperate my consciousness from my external stimuli. Meaning instead of reacting without thinking to external stimuli, i can observe a situation to determine which reaction is best before i react. Consciousness vs. instinct basically.

Am i just full of shit or is this a side effect of prolonged meditation and self hypnosis? Is seperating yourself from your ‘self’ to the point where you don’t react as strongly a normal side effect?
