# Is there a plugin for Winamp that plays "Real" files?

I’m trying to make Winamp my all purpose media player. I’ve found a plugin for movies, other kinds of audio files, but I have yet to find anything for Realfiles.

In case this is unclear, I am talking about files that normally load up with RealPlayer, .ram, .ra and things of that nature. I don’t really know of any good web sites for finding plugins for WinAmp, especially meaningful plugins that affect the input files.

I don’t think the Real company allows others to make programs that can read thier format. They sued a company a while ago that made a program that allowed you to record the files for later viewing. If I ever become a programmer I plan on making one anyway; I can’t stand that crappy Real Player.
