# Is there a published summary of the top firms in each industry?

I recall seeing this once, I believe its published every year. On just a few pages it lists every industry and who the main firms are in each one and how much revenue each had. Most inustries only have less than 5 firms that make up the overwhelming majority of the industries business.

I can’t think of what it is or where I can find it though. I recall it being in a big book with many other yearly statistics summarized. Anyone have any idea what I’m referring to? Its driving me nuts and I could really use it!

The [Fortune 500](http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/fortune500/) will provide a lot of this information.

Thank you, although what I’m looking for is not the biggest corporations but data on the firms that dominate each industry.

You can probably go to sources like Moody’s, Bloomburg, Dunn & Bradstreet, Gartner as well as specific industry publications for various info about different industries.
