# Is there a such thing a the "gay gene"?

The thing I’ve never understood about people who think that “the gay lifestyle” is a choice is this: I’m heterosexual, and I have no doubt that tomorrow I’ll wake up and still be heterosexual. I have no doubt that even if confronted with the most handsome man in the world, I won’t find him “sexy.” I never sit idly around, flipping a coin with the understanding that heads it’s, well, head, and tails, it’s, well, tail, if you see what I’m saying.

You can’t claim that others are making a choice if you can’t see yourself making it as well.

(Please keep in mind that we’re talking in black and white about something that is totally grey, anyway.)

OK, this thread is done. Feel free to search GD for active threads debating homosexuality and participate in them. But show some restraint and avoid making insulting remarks.

As a final note, I will once again advise anyone against attempting to move debates into the Pit. I do not like debates being here as they are better served in GD. Future ones that find their way here will most likely be closed.

This Pit debate is an anomaly and as such should not be considered a precedent to have further debates in the Pit.
