Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has an idea as to how one would get only specific tweets on an iPhone. Example: I’m following 35 people in total, but only want tweets from six on my phone. Thoughts? ---

I use the ‘forward tweet as a text’ option for about 10% of the folks I am following and read them as texts. It keeps the cacophony down to a dull roar. ---

I don’t know enough about twitter and know nothing about the iPhone so there might be an app to handle this, but one option would be to set up a second account to follow just those 6 people and only have that one logged on on your phone. ---

Yes. You have to choose to get mobile notifications from those you follow, and somehow you (or someone else) chose them all. From your home page in Twitter, click on “Following” and a list of all you follow will show up. By each name is a gear icom, which is the “Options” tab. For each user you don’t wnat going to your phone, click “Turn off mobile notifications.” That’s it. ---

Or create a List, composed of those six people. Then keep your phone Twitter app set to display the list rather than your full complement of “following” people. ---

If your cell phone plan limits you to a certain number of “free” SMS messages per month, **Tim R. Mortiss** ’ suggestion of creating a List is the way to go.
