Every newcomer here (myself included) goes through a period where you feel like there are certain posters on the inside, and you are on the outside. It’s all about familiarity. Once people get to know you and your posting style (or you personally, through Doper gatherings), you will find this a much friendlier place. But it’s up to you to stay involved in board discussions. Don’t ever feel like you are out-of-place chiming in on threads here, if you have something intelligent (or just funny) to say. In summation, there is no clique; there are just people that know other people better than they know you. Fix that. And to those - ahem - other people who aren’t in the clique, _(wink-wink)_ let me say, “The wombat drank the purple Yoo-Hoo on a skateboard wearing Chelsea Clinton’s negligee.” They know what it means. ---

There are certainly people who make excuses for each other’s behavior, and cover for them when they seem out of touch. So, yes, there are cliques, and as usual they are a pain in the butt when they pick on someone who just got here and is acting alone. It feels like he’s being ganged up on. The creeps who annoyed you with junior high cliques have grown up to anoy you now with pseudo-“adult” cliques. The only difference, is you’ve grown too, so you can ignore them better. ---

Click or Clique? Neither, both and yes. or maybe no. There are 2 types of people who post to this board. Those who care about it. those who don’t. Its easy to tell who does what. It dosent make a difference how many posts you have. Take Sauron. The guy has been registered over a year. he has about 100 posts. He know the workings of the board. Some people knocked up a thousand posts in a month or two. Its the attitude you post with. You can tell it in someones first post even if they are dopers. So there is no clique. There are Dopers. Thats all. ---
