The quality and characteristics of the actors and characters will always color my perceptions of a film. Just like my perceptions of comics colors my regard for their work. Bill Cosby ceased to be funny when I discovered he was a rapist, for example. ---

And I didn’t like John Wayne movies before I knew anything about him. I sort of HAD to watch The Quiet Man recently and didn’t like it. I basically tuned it out and played games on my tablet. ---

Apparently that is not true at all. Maureen O’Hara did not support the IRA. Not sure where I saw that info when I looked it up originally. It seems some people mix her name up with Rita O’Hara a known supporter of the IRA. ---

#3 billed character was Barry Fitzgerald playing Michaleen Oge Flynn. I noted the characters support for the IRA above. The **character** , not the actor. Wayne was a total bigot. Read his Playboy interview for the details. ---
