**Plan 9 from Outer Space** is a very badly made movie, but it’s unintentionally funny. A lot of people like it just because of that. **Robot Monster** is another cult classic that’s so bad it’s funny. On the other hand, **Santa Claus Conquers the Martians** is just bad. I forced myself to sit through it and cringed the entire time. It’s not funny. It’s just awful. The problem is, the truly awful stuff is around for such a short period of time that very few even remember being exposed to it. Case in point, on a trip to Los Angeles when I was a kid, we got tickets to a sitcom taping. The show was called “[Gloria](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gloria_(American_TV_series))” and it was a spin off of Archie Bunker’s Place, starring Sally Struthers as a vet assistant alongside Burgess Meredith. I was surprised to just learn that it actually survived for 21 episodes (a full season). I remember that when we left the taping, we all agreed that it was a pretty awful show. ---

For sheer tastelessness I nominate the sit"com" [Heil Honey, I’m Home!](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heil_Honey_I%27m_Home!) I’m not going to describe it here as doing so no doubt impact my Social Score, but you can probably guess from the title what its ‘sit’ was. ETA: they filmed 8 episodes but only ever showed one. Guess why. ---
