Many years ago, my brother saw a copy of MMM on vinyl at a record store, and showed it to the clerk and said, “If this ever gets on CD, we’ll know the apocalypse is nigh” and the clerk laughed. Yeah. It’s been released on CD. Never having been either a Lou Reed or Metallica fan, I’ve seen their collaboration on a lot of “worst of” lists over the years. ---

I started a thread about “Turn On” when I found it on YouTube. As for atonal “music”, a few years ago, I was watching a local PBS station’s broadcast of the All-State Music Festival (for HS kids) and the band director obviously had a thing for the atonal. I couldn’t figure out, from what little I actually listened to, how they could have known if they were playing it right or wrong. ---

The debate seemed to center on _Metal Machine Music_ and Shatner’s _The Transformed Man_. A friend did find MMM on vinyl and bought it; in good condition, apparently. He duped it onto a 90 minute cassette for another friend. Side A of the tape had sides 1, 2, and 3 of the vinyl. Side B had 4, with the infinity groove playing over and over to fill the 45 minutes. Said friend also put a cover of MMM on.a mix tape for me. A cappella, they got through the first 45 seconds before giving up ---

Unwatchable movie: _Solarbabies_ (1986). I challenge you to sit through all 94 minutes of it. Doing other distracting activities while watching, doesn’t count. Neither does napping and waking throughout. ---
