I want my IE6 windows open to Max size automatically. When they are not, every time I reach for the scroll bar it shrinks the window instead, and sometimes I hit the window below. I’m set to “remember window sizes and positions”, but that only seems to work on non-Max sizes. I have Regedit if the answer is to use that. ---

I had the same problem. I found [this freeware](http://www.southbaypc.com/AutoSizer/) and it works just fine. ---

Forget the utility. Forget IE completely and go get Opera: [http://www.opera.com/](http://www.opera.com/) You get everything, browser, email, spam-filter and popup-blocker included. It bills itself as “The fastest browser on earth.” and I am not inclined to doubt it. Each window comes in a pane, and it even supports fullscreen and mouse gestures (once you use them you will never want to change). Best of all: It is fully functional free of charge. ---

re: **Opera** suggestion, I dont _get_ any spam _or_ pop-up ads at all. And I dont even know what you mean by full-screen or mouse gestures. (although I do get spam on my Yahoo) So I’m not really inclined to change at this time. ---

Try Avant Browser, it’s a free tabbed browser add-on for Internet Explorer, and you can open new windows in the background, maximized, with the mouse wheel. It also has a cool function of opening “Groups” of favorites, so I can open every SDMB with just one mouse click.
