I’ve seen a Hello Kitty toaster in Chinatown. It burns the image of Hello Kitty into your toast. **Hamish** insisted we buy it, but I’ve managed to stave it off for the time being. ---

A friend of mine claims that in Tokyo a few years ago, he saw a kid with a school bag that said “Kitty likes doo-doo”, with Hello Kitty holding a turd. ---

Hello Kitty (or Kitty chan to the Japanese) obviously got too much for someone; a Canadian friend saw a t-shirt with Kitty chan writing a note and holding a gun to her head - the note read: GOODBYE Kitty. I would give my left arm for this t-shirt. ---

Well _of course_ Hello Kitty will endorse anything; it’s not like they’re Tom Waits, with artistic integrity to maintain. Hell, when I was about nine, I had a Hello Kitty diary someone gave me. They’re doing something right; how many brands can expand for 21 years? ---
