Gah! I knew it was something stupid I was missing! Bonan dankon! The username is because yesterday I was reading about Neutral Moresnet. It was Prussian/Dutch piece of statelessness that lasted for over a century. Some people were trying to make it the first official Esperanto state… then WWI happened. It’s now owned by Belgium, although the Netherlands have not yet officially ceded control to Belgium. The craziness of it all really speaks to me. ---

He’s looking after more important things. He’s speaking French, in Russian. If he were to send a letter without postage, it would still get there without “postage due” at the other end. Cuba imports cigars from him. He once sailed around the world, and discovered a shortcut. He can drive a new car off the lot, and it increases in value. He’s won the lifetime achievement award, twice; and is up for another one. With all that he has on his plate, maybe he’s just a little too busy to check in here everyday? ---

I kind of like the fact that this isn’t a typical social media site\*. I love almost everyone here, but I’m glad you don’t know much about me. Sure, you could piece together clues like _When my wife’s out of town, I buy a box of Lucky Charms._ (“Aha!”, you say, “I know that guy!”) (Nope, he eats his with skim milk, which isn’t decadent enough for Bachelor Week) . \*Someone asked me why I’m not on any social media. I said I’m already wasting too much time on an _"anti-social_ media site". ---

With an overlay now of Grumpy Old Men and Women that we just didn’t have much of 20+ years ago. Which grumpiness is also distinct from the more “mainstream” SM sites. Overall, two thumbs up for @digs’ formulation. ---
