# Is there anywhere I can watch old SNL episodes

Sometimes I want to watch a 70s or early 90s episode of SNL. I don’t know if I have any options for that.
Netflix, last time I checked, doesn’t carry SNL. They did for a bit but not now.
Hulu plus has the 70s episodes I believe, but not the 90s episodes. They have seasons 1-5, then nothing, then seasons 30-40.
The SNL website only has seasons 37-40. I’m interested in seasons 1-5, and roughly 14-25. Are there other options if netflix, hulu plus and the SNL website don’t have it?

Tis odd: Amazon Instant Video is also the first few and the later seasons as well. (Plus you have to pay real money, none are Prime freebies.)

Yahoo Screen has some clips, but not any full episodes the last time I looked.

Seasons 1-5 are the ones with the original Not Ready For Prime Time Players. They’ve all been released on DVD, but AFAIK none of the other seasons have. I wouldn’t be surprised if music rights issues have something to do with this; it wouldn’t be the first TV show whose DVD release has been held up over music rights. ETA: And DVD releases often coincide with streaming-video releases.
There’s supposedly an SNL app for Apple and Android that will enable you to watch clips. It doesn’t look like whole episodes are available, and I don’t know if it has any content that isn’t otherwise available online, such as at NBC’s own SNL site.

The later streaming seasons listed on Amazon seem to have “edited” in the title. I wonder if the edited part is music taken out.
The era of DVD releases of TV shows is coming to an end. E.g., Fox has announced that there will be no more _Simpsons_ DVD releases.

For the last few years, I’ve been trying to locate “Quintin Tarantino’s ‘Welcome Back Kotter’,” with Mike Myers as Kotter, John Travolta as Barbarino, Adam Sandler as Epstein, David Spade as Horschack, and so on. At the end, they have the stand-off like in _Reservoir Dogs_, and Lenny and Squiggy are there. Then Steve Buscemi shows up, out of nowhere, grabs a bag (which may contain the missing diamonds from _Reservoir Dogs_, and runs out.

Yes, but that’s because online sales are more important. It’s not like the content isn’t being made available.
Same goes for old shows. The SNL episodes you talk about would almost certainly be released online if they are released at all.

At limetorrents.in you can find a couple that do. One (I´m downloading) is season 1. Then you have another that allegedly includes seasons 1 to 40, amounting to a scary 520 gygabytes.

NBC recently launched a streaming service that has Saturday Night Live episodes (though I understand the musical guests have been excised). It’s called [seeso.com](http://seeso.com) - probably a better alternative to torrenting (though four bucks a month).

Didn’t something ‘happen’ during the Travolta-hosted episode of SNL that prevented it from ever being rerun again? I’ve never seen it but I remember Dana Carvey mentioning something about it on the old _Later with Bob Costas_ show a year or two afterward.
I have the SNL app for the iPhone and its pretty good (for free) but very haphazard as to what sketches it does and doesn’t have…
