Last week it was some guy annoying people who just wanted to watch Fast Five in a movie theatre in Georgia. [trailers are bad enough now this?](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnVAE91E7kM&feature=player_embedded) the thing I don’t understand is all the “I cried” comments on stuff like this. I don’t think I’m heartless or bitter, but these things just annoy me instead. Am I alone feeling this way:confused: ---

I thought the trailer thing was cute. Now, I didn’t cry, but it was very sweet. I don’t mind them and I’d be so stoked if I saw that in real life. ---

I don’t know I feel stuff like that should be private. And hell I would be pissed if I had been a patron at that theatre waiting for the awesomeness of the Rock and Vin Diesel and saw this smarmy glurge onscreen ---

It’s not exactly new. People have proposed at public events for years and Ahmad Rashaad proposed to his wife on a national TV broadcast over 25 years ago. ---

I got a couple of minutes in and lost interest. Did he ask her to marry him at some point? I don’t like big, staged wedding proposals - no one else cares. (That said, I did link to a Bollywood flash mob proposal the other day that I thought was cute.) ---

I would have been really annoyed to have to sit through that having paid to go to the movies. In fact, I didn’t even watch the whole clip because I started getting annoyed for all the people in the audience who aren’t part of the family. ---

People do seem to be one-upping one another, at least from my anecdotal point of view. My son recently was asked to pilot a plane on a night flight with two passengers aboard. He was given a set of co-ordinates and flew over a large lighted set of letters in a field. The letters spelled out the marriage proposal for the lady aboard. (She said yes). ---

It’s not really a new thing. You hear about proposals on stadium Jumbotrons, planes carrying messages over the beach, and so on and so forth all the time. ---

It seemed like it was all their friends and family. I thought it was cute and clever and all, but I think that could have easily turned into “Jumbotron proposal at Yankee Stadium” (IOW lame and cheesy). One of my friends staged this elaborate proposal involving a fake “emergency” trip requiring an airline trip, his friend driving a fake livery car that for various reasons can’t leave Manhattan, and a helicopter charter that instead of going to Laguardia, lands in some field next to a bed and breakfast in Westchester with a romantic dinner already set up. I mean it was all very romantic if you are getting married to Ethan Hunt. But I’m more about simple and traditional. Along with the elaborate proposal seems to be the Hangover inspired Mega-Bachelor Party and the Week Long Destination Wedding. ---

I approve of big elaborate proposals, as there’s more chance of [proposal fail YouTube videos](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnyKkA05nYw), which I love, in a mean-spirited manner. ---

I thought it was sweet and clever… but I’m a 25 year old female. I might have been a little annoyed if I was waiting for a movie to start but it didn’t take \*that \*long and the theater was pretty empty anyway. ---
