Is this a Paypal scam?

I just received a call on my landline that said:

“This is an automated call from Paypal. Please enter your confirmation number.”

That’s when I hung up.

Could it be something to do with the problem my daughter was having an hour or so ago while online with Paypal?

It wouldn’t let her pay a seller £130. It kept saying the amount was more than her credit limit, although she has paid more than that for items in the past via Paypal.

I’m pretty sure I have never given my landline number to Paypal but maybe my daughter has? I wasn’t aware you could give out your phone number to Paypal.

I think you made the right decision in hanging up the phone. If you’re having problems with PayPal, call or e-mail them directly. That way you’ll know who you’re talking to.
