Is this a scam? Contractor served summons by co. he's never worked with.

So, so far your partner knows the name of the complainant, the fact that the complainant is a paving sub-contractor, the county in which the complaint was filed, the nature of the action (garnishment). Anything else? He knows all of this without actually having received the paperwork – it was all delivered orally by the alleged server. And he knows “the paperwork had his co. name on it” without having seen the paperwork.

I don’t suppose you were there to witness this happen, were you?

I only sat on the couch, we had just set up dinner.

She willingly showed him the paperwork. It included his co. name.

He only knew it was a paving co. from looking it up on the state R.O.C.

And it was never actually delivered-she left nothing.
