# Is this an acceptable route from Baltimore to GWU?

Coming in tomorrow, will be there by 7 AM. I usually take Metro in but it won’t be running yet. I’m coming from Baltimore on 295 and I want to get to the GWU vicinity.
1. Take 295 to Howard Rd. (near Anacostia)
2. Take Howard to S Capitol St. SE
3. Take Capitol up to the 295/395 merge. Get on 395 South
4. Take 395 S. down to GW parkway
5. Take GW parkway up to Arlington Memorial bridge
6. Get on 23rd St. and take it up to GWU
The GW pkwy part was recommended by a co-worker who drives it pretty often. I forget what he said about the 295-Howard Rd. part, though. It looks very easy to mess up, if it’s possible at all.

I think it would be better if you take 495 toward Rockville and catch the GW Parkway from the north.

Why not just take 295 to New York, go west on New York, then go west on I St.?

I took 495 to GW parkway as suggested here. 495 was…the same as it always is, I guess. GW pkwy was nice on a Saturday morning, though. However, I think I almost killed someone by not yielding coming off of the circle up onto the Arl. Mem. bridge. I still don’t know which way that sign was pointing.
And then on the way back they coveniently forgot to make any sort of reference to George Washington. The signs all said “Scout Parkway”, or other things that were not “George” or “Washington”. Luckily my Mad Mapquest Skillz enabled me to match an actual road to the correct little gray line with an arrow on it. Since no one actually did die, I consider it a success.
But maybe _I_ died, and now I have magic powers or something. Ummm…_hrngh!_
Did anyone’s bra just fall off?
