# Is this bogus? Nostradomus prediction

Someone posted this elsewhere on the web:

In 1555, Nostradamus wrote:

“Come the millennium, month 12,  
In the home of greatest power,  
The village idiot will come forth  
To be acclaimed the leader.”  
I’m pretty dang suspicious that this was made up.

Opal, Opal, Opal…There are almost no circumstances under which the words “Nostradamus prediction” need by prefaced by the question “Is this bogus?” It’s like pairing “Is this wet?” with “Pacific Ocean”, or [“Is this made of rocks?” followed by “Stonehenge”](http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a1_051.html).
