This video is trending on youtube. Parents talking to their kids about masturbation. I’m pretty sure it’s NSFW [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0vPqxSVaG4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0vPqxSVaG4) I think it is disturbing on so many levels. I think it is not age appropriate, and way too much information. I think most kids do not have to be taught how, I’m sure most of them figure it out on their own. I think children do not need to be taught about lube and adult toys. Nor do children need to know how often their parents do it and I think it is an invasion of privacy for a parent to ask their child if and how often they do it. Mostly though, I feel so sorry for the kids, that their parents thought it was appropriate to record and post the talks on youtube. I debated even discussing this on a public forum because I think the less exposure the better. What are these parents thinking? What do they think will happen if their kid’s classmates see the video? From the comments I am not alone in thinking it is disturbing. While I don’t agree that it is child abuse or kiddie porn, I think it shows a lack of judgement on the part of the parents. ---

One of the commenters says “The purpose of this video is to destroy the last vestige of anything vaguely resembling morality in the West.” This person is confusing _morality_ with _modesty_. I don’t think there’s anything inherently immoral about masturbation—either doing it or talking about it—but it’s not something I want to see or hear about in public, or to talk about or hear anyone else talk about with kids. ---

What ever happened to keeping private thing private? Not secret, not closeted, not shamefully hidden, but PRIVATE! It’s not daring or bold, it’s just really inappropriate. Some people lack the good sense God gave a goose… ---

That’s a good point, the difference between morality and modesty. Gives me something to think about when it comes to other things that society finds acceptable that I think is not. ---

NOTICE: THIS POSTER HAS NO CHILDREN :dubious:😃 I saw more right than wrong in the video. I cringe at the idea of discussion the mechanics of masturbation with my parents let alone if I do it,if they do it etc. But, I’ve seen the outcome of ignorance and misinformation. I’ve heard stories of boys getting friction burns, girls getting items stuck, or using the wrong items, it’s horrendous and what’s worse is the shame of having to ask for help afterwards.( Not to mention family and doctors will laugh in your face, you know that nervous “sex/masturbation” laugh) I with no kids assume it used to be easier before internet, you only had to describe basic sex or self manipulation…now it’s all glow in the dark dildos and donkey sex at any click, and if the kids can see that much more, I have to wonder how much bigger and more damaging the miconseptions might be. I am not sure posting a kid’s frank and open sex talk with their parents is a good idea… ---

I was driving through one of the low rent districts through the course of my work the other day and it occurred to me that porn, Kool, and Heinekin are the glue that holds society together. But I think this is probably inappropriate - it just sort of seems unnecessary, kids will figure out on their own how to jerk off. ---

Well, I don’t think it’s inappropriate to talk to your children about masturbation. But to film it and post it on YT is a big WTF ?! That being said, I do think Americans tend to be a little prude. I remember someone share a sex ed video from another country (Switzerland maybe?) on my Facebook, and I remember thinking: “Holy crap! Is this for real?”. ---
