Ukelele Ike, while Cecil doesn’t participate in pop culture, that does not keep him from getting asked questions about it from the teeming millions. Thus he may be aware of some passing elements of pop culture from innundation, rather than his own desire to learn it. 
Dunno, man. Sure sounds to me like a wistful cry from the heart of a man pining to get away from the research lab and back to his own little private heaven of Sedaka records.
I am honoured to be considered Ed or Cecil’s secret identity, but the fact is that Lois has seen us together.
