I can believe that. The segment must exist because there are a lot of people who are unhappy with being taken by a timeshare scam.
I wonder if the two scams share scammers.
I understand that. I was playing the role of the timeshare person. You don’t need a lawyer and an accountant to buy a car, right? This deal here is much cheaper than a car, and is a better value because it provides you and your family vacation security for life! And the price is today only! And you have 3 days to take it to your attorney and can cancel at any time during these three days!!!*
*all exceptions apply…you may not really cancel.
Ultravires -got it!
Yeah, if someone lets you bring the paperwork home to look over before you sign, it probably isn’t a scam. Works for all things. We went undercover to a “your baby can act professionally, all you need to do is byt these expensive photos” scam. They showed us the paperwork for a second, then made the mistake of leaving us alone in the room where we filched a copy. Great fun.
I’m fairly sure the ‘laptop’, if indeed they intended to give one out, would have been garbage. Bear in mind that this is called a ‘laptop’: https://www.amazon.com/Goldengulf-Portable-Computer-Netbook-Android/dp/B08ZKT362F
Edit: oops - didn’t notice this was an old thread
Bet it comes preloaded with malware and viruses too.
I think it would have to function longer than a few minutes for viruses to be worthwhile to be on there
<snerk!>
My ex and I sat through a 3 hour long sales pitch for time share condos. At the end of the sales pitch to the 50 or so present, they had drawings for the assembled prizes. My ticket won a new microwave, my ex’s ticket won a 4 night trip to Houston. Why Houston, we had no idea. The certificates for the trip had no names on them when given to us, I sold them on Craigslist for $300. The buyer said everything went perfect and she and her husband had a nice time visiting relatives in the Houston area.
