I was wondering that too. I just noticed someone who’d been around a bit was banned and there’s been no announcement. ---

Announcements still go here when we ban someone (usually for repeated rules violations). If we ban someone for other reasons, like trolling or using multiple accounts, we generally don’t announce that because we don’t want to give the bannee more attention. If you’re wondering about a specific person please ask me or another staffer via private message. ---

I’m pretty sure they would rather have the members use one of their “ask-a-mod” lifelines for this information. However, I have noticed the same thing with respect to that now banned member. I’m just too lazy to ask. ---

Seriously people: just ask someone on staff if you’re wondering who was banned or why. If you’re curious about the policy I think that’s been asked and answered. If this thread turns into a guessing game that kind of defeats the purpose, so I’ll lock the thread. ---
