Is Arrested Development really that funny and if it is why is it supposedly being canceled? I heard on the radio that tonight may be the last episode, I’ve never seen the show, but plan to watch tonight. Is it funnier than say The Office? ---

First of all, Arrested Development airs on Sunday at 8:30, not tonight, and it’s the last episode for the season. The show hasn’t been cancelled, but Fox also hasn’t renewed it, so its status is up in the air. ---

I think it’s funnier than the Office, but I’ve only seen that once. AD has many running gags, so you might not be cued into some of the humor if it’s your first time to watch it. But keep watching it (either reruns or the hopeful next season) and it will get better and better. ---

If they are showing an episode tonight (Friday), I suggest you watch it if you’re interested. Hopefully Fox will have selected a good one, but it won’t be new. Sunday’s episode will be the brand-new season finale, and possibly the de facto series finale. But season 1 is available on DVD, and even if Fox doesn’t elect to pick up the series for more, I’m sure they will eventually release season 2. I love The Office (both the BBC and new NBC versions), but I’d say Arrested Development is even funnier than them. Put together. ---

According to people in other threads, there are some signs Arrested is coming back next year. I won’t rest easy until I hear for sure, but I’m feeling better about it. Either way I’m looking forward to two things: another funny episode, and to having more of my Sunday nights free from now on since there’s no way I’ll be watching American Dad. ---
