Some might argue that it’s closer to the truth, in that atheist is definitely not a denomination. There are a lot of people that whatever their nominal denomination, their active religious belief is some vague generic christianity. If you ask them they are Christian and believe in God, but seldom do anything like go to church or even pray. He could be one of those. But his hubris strikes me as someone who sees religion as a con, the opiate of the masses as it’s been called, and he’s smart enough to see through it, but also smart enough to use it to his advantage. So shifting non-denominational is just a ploy to let more christians project their particular version into him. It’s a transparent ploy to solidify votes, yet it will probably work. ---

Assuming Trump can even pronounce “nondenominational”, I guarantee you he has no idea what it means, especially since his understanding of Christianity in general doesn’t seem to be any deeper than “Good boys go to heaven and bad boys go to hell”. I’m pretty sure that no matter what flavor of Protestant you are, though, that intercessory prayers directed to angels are Papist idolatry. ---

That was what I was thinking. He used to just sound stupid and egotistical, but now he’s just plain incoherent. And moreover, he sounds tired.
