The kid that asked the question has probably had a history lesson in school where he was told about “The Presidents” with a brief and oversimplified description of each one. He can probably name his favourite President. (“I like Roosevelt because he invented teddy bears” or something similar.) And it’s not unreasonable for him to expect that an adult had similar lessons, and also had a favourite. ---

Personally I would have answered Lincoln and would not have imagined I had to limit it to those in office during my life. ---
