Misogynistic? No. I only find it creepy because I find small, non-breathing dolls extremely creepy. But seriously, if a fuck-doll could save marriages (differing sex drives), offer someone with no social skills sexual relief, or prevent a rape (all of which I feel are possible consequences)? Free Real Dolls for everyone! I will pay for them with my taxes! ---

My acquaintance (who has appeared in one TV program on the dolls) uses his as a stand-in for other human beings - one that he can ignore when he needs without it getting offended. A completely solitary life is ultimately harmful to human beings, and a pretend human is better than no human at all. “Wilson” in _Cast Away_ seemed to be a very understandable representation of how a person in complete isolation would construct something to interact with. I’m sure Tom Hanks’ character would have appreciated a Real Doll crate washing up on his beach. ---

A few thoughts related to what has been brought up in this thread: [ol] [li]To answer the OP: No, it is not misogynist[/li][li]A dildo is not the same as these things, since these things look like (or attempt to look like) humans. I can see how someone can think dildos are OK but these things are creepy (both male and female versions)[/li][li]When a guy masturbates/uses sex toys, it has the tint of “loser” since it implies that he is not a successful male in this society. When a woman masturbates/uses sex toys is does not have that tint. Not sure why. [/li] Maybe it’s because men are supposed to be the “conquerors” who win women over, and not being able to do so means that they have failed in their society-defined role. Maybe it’s because there is the idea/myth that women can have sex any time they want to, and if they masturbate/use sex toys, it’s because they _choose_ to do so, not because of their inability to find someone to have sex with [li]It’s good if these things help some men who can’t find women to have sex with, but the overwhelming feeling I get is sadness for these guys.[/li][/ol] ---
