And don’t forget Steve Zahn’s petty-criminal character in the movie “Happy, Texas,” whose name was (wait for it)… Wayne Wayne Wayne Jr.
I love the fact that he’s a Junior… which means his dad was saddled with the same ridiculous name!

John Wayne, Efrem Zimbalist, Jr.…to each his own hero.
and Bruce Wayne often had to stretch the law in his work
Or, as the saying goes, “a cop is a just criminal with a badge.”
Arggh, came in to post that and was just beat by… err… 7 years.
Actual factual research on the middle name “Wayne” and criminality can be found here!
I have reason to believe that sudont is a zombie in addition to just this thread being one. 5 posts this year but before that, a 9 year absence!!! So seeing as both the thread and the resurrector are back, I think this may actually be considered a current thread.
Why not?
Precisely, old chum!

So you’ve returned to the SDMB just so you could misinterpret my post from seven years ago? I’m not saying that police are similar to criminals in their attitude to crime. I’m saying that police tend to come from similar socio-economic backgrounds to criminals - and nothing else. And incidentally, with seven years to think about it, I’d also like to say that I’m not so certain that even that is true.
What an interesting thread!
But John Wayne’s real name was Marion Robert Morrison. We should be blaming “Mad” Anthony Wayne, George Washington’s favorite General, for the name’s bad rap. If you want to see bloody violence, just look at what he did to the British in the midnight attack on Stony Point.
