# Is X (Twitter) down right now?

I tried to read a tweet a friend posted, and the page said ‘Something went wrong. Try reloading. [Retry]’. I tried going to twitter dot com, and got the same message. Downdetector says there are no current problems.

I was able to log in using a Private window in Safari, and open my friend’s message by copying and pasting the URL into it. Still can’t get to the site outside of a private window.

‘Something went wrong. Try reloading. [Retry]’ has been appearing frequently for Twitter users.

It’s a wonky site but you should eventually be able to get through.
