Is Xena: Warrior Princess a good show or a bad show?

I could not agree more with these comments. The entire tone of the series changes with the very first episode of the fourth season. After that it was hit and miss. In my opinion they branched out into too many different venues far removed from the basic greek/roman mythology and changed the characters too much as well. The changes I abhorred were as follows: Gabby cutting her hair and losing her staff, the whole Eli/Jesus plot line, pregnant Xena, Sky, Xena’s daughter, India, surprise it’s 20 years later, killing the Greek gods, you could go on forever.

Cheesy and terrible, but fun to watch all the same.

It was ridiculous. But in a good way.

I watched about the first four seasons. Then it got too silly even for me.

On the other hand, Jack Of All Trades was fantastic.

No, this was the first episode of Xena. IIRC other then the few episodes where Hercules was actually on the show, I don’t think they ever mentioned him during the series (but I could be wrong, it’s been a long time).

Agreed. And there were a few episodes that actually did attain genuine goodness. There was one episode - called, I believe “Day in the Life” - which toned the campiness down and just followed Xena and Gabrielle around their lives for 24 hours. There were some really funny, realistic scenes playing with the idea that (whether they were a couple or not) these two were spending a lot of time together, in rough conditions, and would get on one another’s nerves from time to time.

Very good except for the irritating blonde. It probably went on too long though. Hudson Leick as Callisto was hot.

The entire rest of the series could have been composed of monkeys in people clothes flinging poop and playing Candyland (you know, like Two and a Half Men), and Xena would still be awesome in my book, if only for the line: “You want me to fist a fish?”
