This name was given to me by my first wife back before there was a world wide web. She is the only one who ever called me Scumpup in real life. No, it wasn’t meant insultingly. It was just an affectionate nickname as produced by a Gahan Wilson-type mind. ---

My ex used to call me Cazzle (it’s the primary reason I toy with the idea of changing it), but there are some people in my life who do call me Caz. My brother, for one, and my friend’s kids call me Auntie Caz. ---

I use mine everywhere across the internet, but not in real life. It’s from a comic strip I used to draw (and attempted to make into animations, but I’m not skilled enough) so that’s as far as its legacy reaches. It’s a really stupid name, and therefore often a target for insults during an online argument. I used to think I was the only person who goes by it, but I recently discovered someone who has had it from before I even came up with it in the 90s. But I own the .com domain. 🙂 ---

I generally despise nicknames, so that would be a big fat no. I go by a shortening of my real name, but that’s mostly because of the mess people make of my real name. The only people who are permitted to call me nicks are my SO, of course, and my family (:rolleyes:) who will never stop calling me by my baby name. ---

**Olives** is not my nickname, but it’s how I say ‘‘I love you’’ to my friends and family. (Short for Olive you.) Everyone close to me knows what ‘‘olives’’ means. I am a regular recipient of olive-themed gifts. So it has a real-life connection. March 4th is my birthday. My high school best friend came up with **olivesmarch4th** for AIM and it kinda stuck. I love it because, hey, marching olives. My RL name is Christy, which is a nickname itself but it’s the only thing I like to be called anymore so I consider it my official name. ---

I am “Ralf” with a very small group of friends. Actually, all 3 of us call each other Ralf. It can get confusing to outsiders when we are together. I added the “coder” to it to make it obvious I was me when communicating by letters or notes, and later by e-mail. In my head, I call myself “Ralf” occasionally, but only when I do something bone-headed or poorly. Something like when I hit a bad shot in racquetball, I might tell myself “Come on Ralf, hit the front wall BEFORE the floor!”. ---
