# “ISIL isn’t Islamic”????

Begrudgingly? The Iranians seem quite passionate about the matter, as do their proxies in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and beyond. So do the Kurds, too, both in Iraq and in Syria. The Turks are dragging their feet, yes, but they have their reasons. (My guess: They’re cynically hoping that ISIS and YPG wipe each other out. Ugly, that, but from a _Realpolitik_ standpoint, can you really blame them?)
