So how have these guys not been outed as terrorists yet? I mean, that pretty much clinches the notion that they’re holding the country hostage, or trying to anyway.

If they oppose it, I will lay money they will pass a clean debt ceiling increase at literally the eleventh hour, with few spending cuts. Anyway you look at it, the Republicans lose.

Jesus Hussein Christ, why doesn’t Obama realize that he’s dealing with a bunch of ten-year olds, and tell them that he wants tax cuts? Then they’ll all vote for tax hikes, and everybody will be happy.

Mo Brooks, for instance, said “our credit rating should be improved by not raising the debt ceiling.” The people who tell the market what to think are doing everything they can to tell politicians like Brooks that this is dangerously, catastrophically wrong.

About half and half. Obama’s actions sure look like he wants the economy to collapse. But I am having difficulty believing that even he wants something that stupid and disastrous to happen just so he can benefit politically.

But how can he “come galloping to the rescue with more big government spending” if the Republicans control the House, which controls the purse strings? Your premise makes no sense.

Given what I posted above (Obama offering substantial spending cuts) how do you grok that he is angling for a collapsed economy? It is the republicans who are denying any hope for a resolution. Not Obama. (To be clear I think Obama sucks for capitulating as much as he has…he has rolled over time and again to republican demands and this time seems no different…the Capitulator-in-Chief).

No, no. You don’t understand. Obama is pushing for big spending cuts, and we all know that spending cuts right now will destroy the economy. Ergo, Obama wants to destroy the economy.

Or something like that.
